Jonah 1:5 Aware or Unaware
Being caught unaware can be an eye-opening experience. And yet in the case of Jonah, who seemed very unaware, even that didn't move his heart to obey God as a storm chased him down while he was napping.

My Citizenship
I am just a little old(er) lady who likes to ponder and wonder about things and jot down some notes occasionally. My daughter tells me my epitaph will be, "She wondered as she wandered." Well, I can get pretty annoying with all of my "wondering" and accompanying questions. I do know that.

Jonah 1:4 God Intervenes
After Jonah set sail for Tarshish, God allowed him to get out to sea and think he was in the clear. It was only then that God sent the storm to get Jonah's attention and redirect him back to God's plan.

Jigsaw Puzzles Drive Me Crazy
I have never been a fan of jigsaw puzzles. I know some of you are ... maybe even a lot of you. I have seen pictures posted of completed puzzles and have felt just a twinge of envy. I am very impressed with a person’s tenacity to put a 500 to 1000-piece puzzle together. I have a very limited attention span ... and I am terribly impatient.

A Green Thumb Not Required
My son, Jamie, gave a beautiful plant to me for Mother's Day a few years ago. When my son, Chris, saw it, he said, "I give it three weeks." I certainly wasn't offended by Chris's comment. In fact, it was funny. But it was also possibly … probably … very true. He knows. My whole family knows. Most plants come to my house to die. I don't kill them intentionally. I just don't have the knack.
