Speak the Name: Introduction
This is Trinity Sunday, and Matthew 28:16-20 and specifically verse 19 speak to the Trinity as it is revealed in Scripture, not through a single “definition verse,” but through a pattern of divine self-disclosure in which Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each fully God, distinct from one another, and yet united as one God. This is the first of four postings of a sermon entitled "Speak the Name."
Speak the Name: Part One
This is the second posting of a sermon on Matt. 28:18; Gen. 1:1–2; Psalm 8:1.
Is anyone Feeling Tired? I Am!
I preached this sermon "Is Anyone Feeling Tired? I Am!" on July 9, 2023. The Scripture covered was Matthew 11:25 - 30. We all have bad days but did Jesus have bad days? In Matthew 11:25-30 he ends what could be called a few bad days for Jesus with a prayer of thanksgiving and an invitation to come to him and he will give us rest. We are to take his yoke upon us and he will help us carry it.
