Waiting on God

A blog about people's thoughts, writings, and lives as followers of Jesus waiting on God.

Family Keepsakes

Many of us have been given items by family members or other special people in our lives as expressions of their love for us, as well as to serve as keepsakes ... helping us to remember the person and his or her love and life.

Power in the Name of Jesus

Acts chapter two is perhaps a “typical” day for Peter and John. They went to the Temple to pray as most People of the Way did, I mean, after all, they still were Jews. Then things changed. they met a lame beggar man and Peter sensed the leading of the Holy Spirit to heal this man who had been lame his whole life. Little did he know that this healing in Jesus' name would be so controversial later that day.

No More Death

Death is like the proverbial white elephant in the room. Nobody wants to talk about it or acknowledge we will all die someday. We have euphemisms for death like: he passed, he kicked the bucket, he is pushing up daisies, he has gone to heaven, he croaked, or my favorite, he is six feet under.

Through the Wilderness

It feels like the wilderness is getting a bit more “wildernessy”. If you're watching any news these days, the situations all around the globe are quite disturbing. It seems like so many are walking in the wilderness of anger ... despair ... uncertainty ... and we need the voice of reason and calm and assurance.

Stains, Marks, and Scars

"I recently left a pink sticky note on my nightstand (a family antique) and set a glass on it.  I was unaware, but the condensation from the cold glass caused the pink dye from the sticky note to bleed onto the wood.  It's just a mark on a piece of furniture that holds little value, other than sentimental. "  What other marks have been left in our lives? Join Connie today as she explores Stains, Marks, and Scars.
