While watching a program on Native American Artists, I listened to a woman, who made very unique sculptures of humans, explain her love of feeling the wax and clay under her fingernails as she created something from nothing

Freedom is Not Free
While we specifically remember, on this particular day, those who gave their all ... I think I am beginning to realize the depth of the trauma for those who gave, but still came home. The losses they witnessed are not to be minimized. They may not be able to talk about what they saw ... who they lost ... what they endured ... and how their lives have been profoundly impacted by those experiences, without a tremendous amount of support and acceptance, and help ... to begin to heal.

Guard Your Mouth
A careless, thoughtless word can cause lingering pain, and can certainly hurt the relationship if left untreated. I know there are angry, wounded, hateful people who intend to harm others. But that is another "animal". More often our hurts come from those who actually love us.

Look for the Lovely
It can be very difficult sometimes to look for the good ... for the lovely thing ... in people and in situations. When we’re hurt or sick or broken or misunderstood, often our minds and hearts go on the defensive and wonder why ... why me ... why this ... why now?
